Hands down home-made salad dressings beat the pants off anything you can purchase in the grocery store. First, I love knowing exactly what is in my food…homemade dressings will not have any preservatives or other unfamiliar ingredients. Balsamic Vinaigrette is one of my favorite vinaigrettes, it is simple and has wonderful flavors.
Balsamic Vinaigrette is easy to make and can turn any ordinary salad into an amazing salad. I use a handheld emulsion blender to make this dressing. As with most vinaigrette, they separate over time but I find this vinaigrette “holds together” for a longer period of time when I use this blender.
You’re sure to impress when you serve this balsamic vinaigrette at you dinner table. I love the deep purple-brown color of balsamic vinegar and how it is a perfect combination of sweet and sour.
- 1 Garlic Clove, pressed
- ¼ tsp kosher salt
- ¼ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 packet stevia
- ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
- ¾ cup extra-virgin olive oil
- In a small bowl add garlic, salt, pepper, stevia and vinegar. Slowing add olive oil to mix with an emulsion blender. Blend just until combined.
- If not using vinaigrette right away, cover and refrigerate. Bring to room temperature before serving.
You will love this vinaigrette because it is a very versatile dressing, it pairs well with fruits, savory cheeses, and all types of greens. I use it on mixed green salad with grilled chicken, on salads with spring mix greens, walnuts and feta cheese, the list goes on and on.
Let me know how you choose to use it.
