I’ve become a huge fan of fruit salsa. I love the combination of sweet and spicy. If you can get peaches from a farmers market odds are they will be ripe and ready to eat. I see lots of peaches in the grocery stores, but they don’t seem to have the same sweet fragrance and they aren’t ripe. I was lucky enough to find some deliciously ripe peaches!
Peaches are a stone fruit like cherries and apricots. Peaches are distinctive because they have fuzz on their skin. You can find peaches with different shades of red, yellow, and white flesh. To me, they are all delicious.
Peaches are a good source of fiber, vitamin A, beta carotene, along with potassium. Peaches contain wonderful compounds that may help inhibit metabolic syndrome, a condition that increases the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Definitely rinse your peaches before cutting. I leave the skin on to get all the nutrients out of these peaches.
- 2-3 medium ripe peaches, ½" diced
- ¼ cup sweet onion, diced
- 1 tbsp jalapeño, seeded and minced
- ¼ cup cilantro, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl, stir well.
