Today was a good day. I subbed for a Health and Physical Education class. I usually teach High School, but this is my first time with Middle schoolers. This would also be my first time in a PE class. I was already a little nervous, then I realized I had no idea what to wear. All kinds of thoughts were racing through my head. Am I suppose to wear warm-ups or dress casual? A whistle…I need a whistle. It was kind of like the first day of school…where you don’t know what to expect. So, you end up planning everything out, hoping to make a good impression. 😀
I definitely needed a good start to the day and what’s better than a smoothie. This isn’t just any smoothie, it is the flavors of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! For this smoothie, I combine strawberries, banana, peanut butter, and flax. I love this combination! It is fruity, creamy, and peanut butterlicious. 😀
So, I opted to wear casual clothes and take gym clothes with me. I loved teaching the Health class. The students had so many questions, and I could have talked for hours.
PE was in one word…LOUD. First of all, there were 50 kids in one class! That’s a lot, right?! Combine 50 kids, lots of talking, bouncing balls and it is noise overload.
Aww, that’s where a whistle comes in handy. How awesome is a whistle?! I loved using that little thing. 😀 One blow of the whistle and everyone stops and listens. Class flew by!! The kids warmed up, stretched, and played a game. How easy is that?! I’d definitely do that again 😀
