Today is my one year anniversary of starting Pick Fresh Foods!! It’s hard to believe it has been a year. Time sure does fly when you do something you love.
I started this blog after we moved to Colorado; I didn’t know anyone and wasn’t working. Nutrition education is my forte’ and I wanted to spread that with my love of cooking.
Then one day I thought to myself…I can write, photograph, and post what we like to eat and talk about the nutritional benefits of whole fresh foods.
It was also a great way to keep busy, stay current with nutrition information, and be inspired to cook a variety of recipes.
Once I decided this is what I was going to do, I started brainstorming for a name.
I’ve already told you how obsessive I am, right? So, of course that was all I could think about for days. Seriously, in my sleep I was thinking of names!
I don’t think I had this much trouble giving my children names. I bounced a huge list of names off my husband, and finally, I decided on Pick Fresh Foods.
It was perfect! It says exactly what I believe in…eat whole fresh foods for good nutrition.
It has been such an adventure and learning experience. I never would have guessed how much time it takes to maintain a blog. Even when I am super busy, I still want to keep sharing and stay connected with all of you.
I have to admit it is a little scary putting myself out in the blogshpere. I remember being so worried that I’d put all this effort into creating a post and no one would read it.
It’s kind of like being the new kid at school and you hope the other kids will let you into their group.
Thankfully, I have been welcomed by the most wonderful people from all over the world. The best part is we have become friends and we all share a common love of food.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to say THANK YOU for sharing and helping to make Pick Fresh Foods what it is today! This site wouldn’t be what it is today without your comments, pins, tweets, and love. I look forward to continuing to grow, share, and meet more people who share my love of food.
Time to Celebrate!!! It’s no secret that I am crazy for smoothies, right?! So, it only seems appropriate that I celebrate my 1st year with a delicious smoothie 😀
This Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie is one of my newest favorites. I have gone through a lot of blueberries enjoying this smoothie several times a week.
This smoothie is loaded with fiber, so it has some serious staying power. It is delicious bright and fresh. Take a look at this beautiful natural color and texture!!
I raise my glass to you…Thank You Friends 😀
