Summer is officially here and the mornings are beginning to be a lot warmer. This is the perfect time for a cold delicious smoothie.
It is no secret that I love smoothies. If I count correctly, there are at least 15 different variations here on Pick Fresh Foods. I could almost create a book!
Smoothies are a super easy way to blend healthy ingredients for breakfast, a snack, or post workout drink.
When I know I’ve got to get going right after I wake up, a smoothie is my first choice for breakfast. I can easily pour it into a cup and take it with me. I drink it as I’m dropping off my son to his soccer practice and run some quick errands.
Just like all the others, this one is my favorite. Of course, I wouldn’t share with you anything that isn’t my favorite 😀
I love using apples in smoothies. They add great texture, thickness, and fiber.
This Granny Smith Apple Smoothie is delicious! Just look at these beautiful specks of green in there!
I use apples, walnuts, and old-fashioned oats to create a flavorful and filling smoothie.
Apples are a great! They are heart healthy food and because they have a high water content they help you feel full 😀
To get the most benefits out of an apple, don’t peel them. That skin has lots of fiber and vitamins. It also has quercetin, an antioxidant, that may help protect against oxidative damage in the brain that can lead to memory loss.
My dad has high cholesterol, so I’m always telling him to eat apples. They are loaded with pectin, which is a great cholesterol-lowering soluble fiber.
The wonderful thing about this delicious smoothie is it full of great nutrients. Plus, just like my Red Delicious Apple Pie Smoothie you will love how thick and creamy it is.
