School doesn’t start back up for my kids for a couple of weeks and I am already exhausted. Two a day soccer practices began this week for my son and my daughter is doing a summer band practice. If you are looking for me, you can find me in my car. As much as I don’t want my son to grow up, it would be nice if he was driving. 😀 My own personal torture…not wanting my kids to get older, but happy to see them reach new milestones. My guys are growing too fast! Just over the summer, they have grown so much! Both of my kids are way taller than I am. It’s actually kind of funny, I have to ask them to bend down or lower their heads, so I can fix their hair. My daughter loves having some kind of braid or twist in her hair; now I find that I’m getting arm cramps from holding them up trying to fix her hair. LOL
School starting means Fall isn’t too far away. I’m already beginning to notice the temperatures dropping more at night into the high 40’s! That means I gotta take advantage of our summertime! No better way than with Fresh Cherry Chocolate Chip Frozen Yogurt…

How to Pick

I had no idea how much I would love cherry yogurt until I made this Fresh Cherry Chocolate Chip Frozen Yogurt. Just look at how beautiful it is! No food coloring needed here, this beautiful shade of pink comes straight from the fresh cherries. Using fresh ingredients is always going to make your food taste better. I last used cherries to make these delicious kolaches. My all time favorite way to use cherries is in an easy to make fruit crisp.
- 32 oz 0% fat vanilla yogurt
- ½ c low fat buttermilk
- 1 Tbsp Stevia blend
- ½ cup fresh cherries, pitted and quartered
- ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
- Place quartered cherries on a paper towel and gently pat dry; set aside.
- Dissolve sugar in ½ cup of buttermilk in a small saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a large bowl mix vanilla yogurt and buttermilk together with a rubber spatula.
- Turn on ice cream maker and slowly add the yogurt mixture.
- As the yogurt begins to stiffen gradually add the cherries and mini chocolate chips.
- Continue to freeze according to manufactures directions.
This is definitely my idea of celebrating summer! Every bite of this Fresh Cherry Chocolate Chip Frozen Yogurt is filled with fresh ripe cherry chunks and mini chocolate chips. Folding all that goodness into smooth and creamy vanilla yogurt makes this a deliciously healthy frozen treat.
